    Nigel Moody helps clients navigate complex commercial, finance and property matters with clear, strategic advice. He works with a wide range of organisations, including private businesses, banks and lenders, developers, iwi, not-for-profits and government agencies. Clients trust him to guide them through significant decisions, transactions, and long-term planning.

    Nigel advises on business structures, shareholder agreements, capital raising, governance and commercial contracts. His finance work includes secured lending, refinancing and property syndication, particularly in the commercial and agri sectors. He has acted on high-value projects such as public offerings, court-approved restructures and large-scale development deals.

    In property, he assists with acquisitions, sales, subdivisions, commercial leasing, and development agreements. Nigel combines practical commercial advice with in-depth expertise in company law, securities and banking regulation.

    Nigel joined Gibson Sheat in 1987, became a Partner in 1991, and played a central role in growing the firm’s commercial practice in Wellington. Now a Consultant, he continues to advise on key matters, working flexibly to support clients and maintain long-standing relationships.

    He is a trustee of the Cuba Street Carnival Collective Trust and continues to be involved in community initiatives. 

    Outside work, Nigel enjoys golf, skiing, surfing, travelling and spending time with family and friends.
