Melissa Pauling

Melissa Pauling leads business improvement and innovation at Gibson Sheat. Since stepping into this newly created role in 2021, she has transformed the way Gibson Sheat works. She focuses on smarter systems, greater efficiency and supporting teams to deliver a better client experience.

Melissa also manages our Finance Team and plays a key role in compliance and reporting. She led the implementation of new practice and document management systems, introduced data tools to support performance insights, and continues to develop better ways of working across teams. She supports the CEO with financial analysis and innovation initiatives and works closely with Gibson Sheat’s AML compliance partner.

A natural problem solver and trusted team player, Melissa is often the go-to for training and onboarding, helping new staff quickly get up to speed with our systems and tools.

She works remotely from the Coromandel, where she balances her work with family, time at the beach and in her community. She was the Board of Trustees Chairperson at Whenuakite School and is currently the Treasurer for the Whenuakite School Fundraising Team, which raises in excess of $40K for this small country school each year.

Outside of work, Melissa enjoys spending time with family and friends, trying out local eateries, and making the most of life in the Coromandel. She and her husband own a building company, doing new builds and renovations, and also run a successful boutique guest accommodation from their property.
