Louise Newman

Louise (Lou) Newman leads Gibson Sheat’s ACC and Health Law team and specialises in complex medico-legal cases.

Louise is also experienced in civil and commercial litigation and has a wide ranging civil and commercial litigation practice, including contractual disputes and professional disciplinary matters.

Louise has successfully represented clients in complex and high-profile ACC cases.  Clients trust her to provide clear advice, strong advocacy and steady support throughout the process.

Before joining Gibson Sheat in 2019, Louise worked at a specialist litigation firm in Wellington and has also previously worked in-house role in a large government agency.  

Outside of work, Louise is active in the Wellington community.  She plays football, and volunteers with Community Law Wellington.
