Julie Millar
Julie helps Wairarapa clients with property, family, and business law.
Julie Millar helps people through life’s transitions, whether that means passing on the family farm, buying a first home, managing a separation or growing a business. She specialises in rural and residential property, farm succession, commercial, and relationship property matters. Her clients include farming families planning for the next generation, small business owners navigating business law, couples separating or planning ahead, and individuals buying or selling property. Julie is also experienced in contracting out agreements (also known as prenups), helping couples clarify their intentions and protect their assets.
A long-time part of the Wairarapa legal community, Julie began her career at Gibson Sheat in Lower Hutt before relocating to the region and becoming a Partner at Logan Gold Walsh. She returned to Gibson Sheat when the two firms merged in 2015 and continues to practise from our Masterton office. She is known for her thoughtful, practical advice and strong understanding of what matters to Wairarapa clients.
Julie is also a dedicated community contributor. She has served as a board member of the Wairarapa Chamber of Commerce and as Past President of the Rotary Club of Masterton. She is Secretary of the Federated Mountain Club Forest and Mountain Trust and a member of Wairarapa Search and Rescue, Masterton Tramping Club, Athletics and Cycling Masterton and the Wairarapa A&P Society. She also volunteers with the Community Law Centre and Good Bitches Baking.
Julie is currently on sabbatical until 1 January 2026, taking time to explore new parts of the world before returning to her practice. Outside of work, you’ll find her in the bush, on her bike or training for her next triathlon. She enjoys new challenges, whether trekking across Spain or lending a hand in her local community.
