Jessie Hunt
Jessie helps people plan, protect and move forward during times of change.
Jessie Hunt helps people navigate some of life’s most challenging moments, including the death of a loved one, the breakdown of a relationship, or the transition into retirement living. She leads our Life Planning, Estates and Senior Law team in Masterton, guiding clients with empathy, clarity and practical legal advice.
With a strong background in litigation and family law and deep roots in the Wairarapa, Jessie is skilled at resolving emotionally complex issues with care and confidence. She assists with wills, enduring powers of attorney (EPAs), estate administration and retirement village agreements, as well as estate-related disputes and applications under the Protection of Personal and Property Rights Act.
She also works with clients navigating relationship property and separation matters, helping them protect what matters most and move forward with certainty. Clients value Jessie’s down-to-earth style, strong advocacy and ability to explain complex legal matters in a way that feels clear, human and reassuring.
Before joining Gibson Sheat, Jessie ran her own firm, Hunt Law, providing legal support to her local Wairarapa community. She was regularly appointed as Lawyer for Child in the Family Court and later served as Principal Solicitor at the Real Estate Authority before returning to private practice.
Outside of work, you’ll find Jessie in the bush or spending time in her ever-expanding garden.
