Hayley McDonald

Hayley advises on business structuring, company formations, share transactions and shareholder agreements, as well as commercial contracts, business sales and acquisitions, lending and finance arrangements and commercial leasing. She also assists with residential and commercial property transactions, supporting clients through each stage of the process.

Hayley takes a calm and pragmatic approach that helps clients feel confident in their decisions. She communicates clearly, works collaboratively and focuses on delivering practical, high quality outcomes. Clients value her attention to detail and her commitment to achieving results that align with their commercial objectives.

Hayley began her career at Gibson Sheat in 2023 in the property team while completing her studies at Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington. She holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Psychology and Criminology, and was admitted to the bar in September 2025. Following her admission, she joined the firm’s commercial team as a Solicitor.

Outside of work, Hayley enjoys hiking, playing netball and spending time with family and friends.
