Hamish Gordon

Hamish Gordon is a senior commercial and property lawyer with decades of experience helping business owners, investors and professionals manage risk and complete complex transactions with confidence. Clients value his commercial judgment, clear advice, and ability to find practical solutions that support long-term business goals.

Hamish advises on business structuring, shareholder agreements, commercial contracts, and property development projects. He also acts on residential and commercial sales and purchases, subdivisions, leasing and forestry transactions. With over a decade as a banking and finance partner, he brings specialist expertise in lending, securities and finance documentation.

He was admitted to the bar in 1975 and became a partner at Brandon Brookfield in 1987, continuing with Simpson Grierson following the 1990 merger. After several years in the property investment sector, he co-founded Nowland Gordon & Associates in 2008, which joined Gibson Sheat in 2020.

Outside of work, Hamish enjoys time with family and friends, as well as skiing, boating, cycling and the occasional hunting trip.
