Chelsea helps Gibson Sheat bring people, ideas and initiatives together.
Chelsea Cancian plays a key role at the heart of Gibson Sheat, working across marketing, events and HR to help keep people connected and projects running smoothly. She works closely with the CEO and senior managers, bringing creativity, energy and sharp organisational skills to everything from digital marketing and proposals to social media, internal comms and firm-wide training.
Known for her practical mindset and creative flair, Chelsea helps shape Gibson Sheat’s culture and is someone people across the organisation know they can rely on.
In HR, she leads the onboarding experience for new team members, ensuring they feel welcomed, informed and supported from day one. She also coordinates our weekly training programme, manages continuing professional development (CPD) and keeps the team up to date with relevant learning opportunities. Her ability to manage moving parts while staying people-focused makes her a trusted connector across Gibson Sheat.
Chelsea also oversees the firm’s event calendar, planning and delivering a wide range of internal and external events that build engagement, strengthen relationships, and celebrate success.
Since joining Gibson Sheat in 2008, Chelsea has brought loyalty, versatility and positivity to every role she’s taken on. With a background spanning accounts, reception, legal support and office coordination, she understands how the business runs from the ground up.
Outside of work, Chelsea enjoys quality time with her partner and two stepsons, training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and MMA and cruising in her classic American car, which she imported and restored 13 years ago. Her latest project is renovating a house bus. She loves creative projects, tinkering and exploring the Wairarapa for its peace, space and freedom.
